Funeral services will be held for Mr. Donald Dupre, age 84, at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon Sammy Diesi will conduct the service. Burial will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.
Donald was born in Plaisance, LA on November 27, 1932 and died on Sunday, June 11, 2017. He was a lifelong resident of Opelousas, LA. Mr. Dupre worked for the City of Opelousas street department for 22 years until his retirement. Donald enjoyed listening to and dancing to Cajun music. He will be dearly missed by his family and those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by a son, Dale Dupre and wife Melissa; daughters, Debra Dupre Aucoin; Lenora Dupre Warden and husband, Kippie and Faye Dupre Goutro; his brother, Otis Dupre and his sisters, Mercedes Dupre Bihm and Emilee Dupre Stelly. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, Mitchell Dale Aucoin, Shaun Ray Aucoin, Cody Lee Aucoin, Holly Warden, Foster Gotro, III, Krystal Briege Dupre, Misty Jo Dupre, Lacie Mae Dupre Boudreaux, Tayla Jade Dupre Houser, Taner Dale Dupre and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Eula Mae Thibodeaux Dupre; his parents, Marshall and Elmire Vidrine Dupre; his brothers, Jessie Dupre, Marius Dupre, and Clarence Dupre and his sisters, Mae Dupre Roberie, Mary Jane Dupre Fontenot, Yvonne Dupre Ledoux and Laura Dupre Lafleur.
The family requests visiting at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas, beginning on Monday, June 12, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. and will reopen on Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. until service time. A rosary will be prayed by Deacon Sammy Diesi at 6:00 p.m.
