Washington - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 for Daphne Buller Simoneaux at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Washington. Reverend Father Matthew Higginbotham will officiate the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Daphne Buller Simoneaux, age 82 and a resident of Lafayette, passed away on Friday, September 7, 2018.
Daphne was a nurse for over 45 years. She began her training at Charity Hospital in Lafayette. She worked at Our Lady of the Sea Hospital in Galliano, Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette, and Women’s and Children’s Hospital In Lafayette. She was a pediatric nurse for Dr. John Daigre, Dr. Bryan Sibley and Dr. Jude Bares.
Daphne was a positive, happy person who truly loved people. She always tried to find the bright side of things, and her enthusiasm was contagious. She loved her family and friends. Daphne always tried to make special occasions memorable. She never missed anyone’s birthday, and kept in touch with her family and friends through the years; she went out of her way to stay in touch with those she loved.
Daphne lived an authentic life. She honestly loved her fellow man, with a beautiful, servant heart. It was her joy to give. If you were one of the lucky ones to have been blessed by her sunshine, she would have just one wish—pass it on!
She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Dorsey (Stuart); brothers, Stanley Buller (Carolyn), Jerome Buller (Lennie) and Michael Buller (Nicole); sisters, Lorraine LeBlanc (John) and Wilda Savoie (Robert); and grandchildren, Benjamin Dorsey and Daniel Dorsey.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Stanley Buller and Frances Anita Savant Buller; and her husband, Harry Simoneaux, Jr.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. in the Skip Montet Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening. The funeral home will reopen from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass on Wednesday, September 12, 2018.

I am so sorry to hear of Ms. Daphne's passing. My son and daughter were patients of Dr. Daigre. My son was very ill his first year and I could always count on Daphne calming my fears and taking excellent care of my son. She was a very special person.

I am very sorry that you have suffered this loss. It is hard to know just what to say when a loved one dies. Be assured that our loving Creator is aware of your loss and pain. Through His son, Christ Jesus, he has arranged to bring back to life, "all those in the memorial tombs." (John 5:28,29) At that time, Rev. 21:3-5 says: "Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” Please accept my condolences for the loss of your beloved mother, grandma and friend. May God's Word comfort you and your family. Sincerely, Meryl, jw.org - email@example.com

Praying for Liz Simoneaux Dorsey and her family. In 1993 Daphne was the first nurse (and employee) I ever hired. Dr. John Daigre had recently retired and Daphne had been his nurse for many years. As I recall those first days of my practice some 25+ years ago, I know that it was through her friendly, kind, compassionate and humorous disposition, coupled with the unyielding regard in which scores of parents held her, that God blessed our practice so abundantly. Rest In Peace sweet friend.
