Krotz Springs– Services will be held for Barry (Judge) H. Downs, age 66, on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Krotz Springs, La., followed by interment in the Melville Pentecostal Cemetery in Melville, La.

Mr. Downs, a resident of Melville, La., passed away on Friday, January 29, 2010 at 8:09 a.m. at Opelousas General Health System.

Barry enjoyed motorcycle riding, boat riding and camping. He was a member of the Army National Guard.

He is survived by his wife, Glenda A. Downs of Melville, La.; his daughters, Carol A. Woodard and husband, Paul, of Erwinville, La.; Samantha M. Downs of Gatesville, Texas and his lifelong best friend, Dorothy Porche. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren: Becky Woodard, Adam Woodard, Ashley Reifer, Kimberly Ellis, Joshua Ellis and Amanda Downs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dave L. and Amanda (Snookie) Downs and his grandson, Paul L. Woodard, Jr.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Krotz Springs on Friday, January 29, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will reopen at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2010 until time of service.
