Opelousas – Services for Theresa Brown, age 82, will be held on Friday, February 5, 2010 at
11:00 a.m. in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel followed by interment in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas, La. Reverend Paul Bienvenu will officiate the services.

Mrs. Brown, a resident of Opelousas, died at Opelousas General Health System on Wednesday, February 3, 2010.

Theresa was a member of the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church Altar Society and also a retired librarian.

She is survived by her husband, Gervis Brown, of Opelousas, La.; her sons, Kevin Brown and fiancé, Phyllis Pitre, of Opelousas, La.; Marvin “Jimmy” Brown and wife, Cynthia, of Greenwell Springs, La.; her daughters, Carmen Posluszny and husband, Barry, of Lafayette, La.; her brothers, David Meche of Duson, La. and Bobbie Meche and wife, Virginia, of Gonzales, La. She is also survived by her 3 grandchildren: Bryan Brown, Amie Starks, David Brown; 1 great-grandchild, Collin Starks and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cyprien Meche; her brother, John E. Meche; her sisters, Amy Mire, Clemmie Meche Hutchinson and Genevieve Lastrapes.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Thursday, February 4, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will re-open at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, February 5, 2010 until service time. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 4, 2010.

Pallbearers will be: Barry Posluszny, Kevin Brown, Marvin Brown, David Brown, Bryan Brown and Stephen Starks.
