Opelousas – A Mass of Christian Burial for Harold J. “Buggs” Savoy, age 71, will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, at 2:30 p.m. in the St. Landry Catholic Church followed by interment in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas, LA Monsignor Robert Romero will conduct the services.

Mr. Savoy, a resident of Opelousas, passed away on Friday, February 5, 2010 at the Acadia-St. Landry Hospital in Church Point, LA

Harold was a veteran of the U.S. Army and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Jane Settoon Savoy of Opelousas, LA; his daughter, Stacey S. Messner of Opelousas, LA; his sisters, Evelyn Wyble and husband, Arthur, of Opelousas, LA; Anne Marie Savoy of Opelousas, LA and two grandsons, Lane and Tyler Messner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Elda Theriot Savoy.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Monday, February 8, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will reopen at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.

Pallbearers will be: Scott Settoon, Lance Gautreaux, Mitchell Wyble, Paul Soulier, Greg Callihan and Jeremy Arsement. Honorary pallbearers will be: Lane Messner and Tyler Messner. Gift Bearers will be: Missy Callihan, Janie Soulier and Janet Arsement. Readers will be: Cathy Breaux and Kim Johnson.
