Krotz Springs - A Mass of Christian Burial for Jeanne Fontenot Ellis, age 89, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 6, 2010 in the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Krotz Springs with interment to follow in the St. John Catholic Church Cemetery in Melville. Father Mark Ledoux will celebrate the mass and Father James will conduct the graveside committal service.

Mrs. Ellis, a resident of Krotz Springs died at 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Opelousas General Health System.

Jeanne was a member of the Ladies Altar Society at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Krotz Springs. She also enjoyed cooking and gardening.

She is survived by her sons, James Ronald Ellis and wife, Verbal, of Krotz Springs and her daughter, Juanita Ellis Wiltz of Krotz Springs. She is also survived by her 6 grandchildren: Michael Scott Ellis, Daniel Alfred Wiltz, Jr., Paul Edward Wiltz, Shane Christopher Wiltz, Brad Jason Ellis all of Krotz Springs, and Stephanie Ellis Speyrer of Leonville. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Ellis; her parents, Albert and Armance Marie Miller Fontenot; her brothers, Albert, Eve, Paul, Louis, Lee and Emile and her sisters, lena Daigle, Aline Miller, Lula Sonnier and her beloved son-in-law, Daniel Alfred Wiltz, Sr.

Pallbearers will be: Michael Scott Ellis, Daniel Alfred Wiltz, Jr., Paul Edward Wiltz, Shane Christopher Wiltz, Brad Jason Ellis and Phillip Michael Ellis. Honorary pallbearer will be Stephanie Ellis Speyrer.

Visiting hours will be held in the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Krotz Springs on Friday, March 5, 2010 beginning at 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday until service time. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
