Opelousas – Services for Myrtle Vidrine Lavergne, age 78, will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel of Opelousas followed by interment in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas, La. Father James Liperi will officiate the services.

Mrs. Lavergne, a resident of Opelousas, passed away on Monday, March 8, 2010 at 8:15 p.m. at Prompt Succor Nursing Home in Opelousas.

Myrtle was a member of the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church Altar Society and the Catholic Daughters of America.

She is survived her husband, Clifton Lavergne of Opelousas, La.; her sisters, Lou Rella Vidrine, Betty Ardoin, Aline Hidalgo all of Opelousas, La.; Anna Lee Meche of Lake Charles, La. and Dolores Guillot of Iowa, La.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ferdie and Aline Fontenot Vidrine; her brother, Heulin Vidrine and an infant brother, James Carroll Vidrine.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Wednesday, March 10, 2010, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and will re-open at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 11, 2010, until service time. A rosary will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
