Skip is from Weeks Island, La and is a graduate of Commonwealth College of Science, Houston, Tx. Skip worked for Evangeline Funeral Home, Martin & Castille and Jacquemaud Funeral Homes before coming to Lafond & Son in 1973 as their manager, a title that he still maintains to this day. Skip is currently a member of numerous community organizations where he as held many past titles.

Ray Dupre’ is a resident and native of Opelousas. He is a graduate of Opelousas Catholic High and Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service where he received an Associates Degree in Applied Science with honors and distinction. He was elected as the President of the National Funeral Honor Society and honored by his peers with the R.L. Waltrip Chairman’s Award of Excellence.
Ray holds a Louisiana Funeral Director and Embalmers license. He is a member of the Southwest Louisiana Funeral Directors Association, the Louisiana Funeral Directors Association, and the National Funeral Directors Association.
Ray was inspired by his father-in-law, Lowell Sibille, Jr. to enter the funeral profession. He has a passion for assisting families at one of the most difficult times in their lives and for the need to respect each family’s unique and individual need.
Some of the activities Ray loves are fishing and gardening, but his family life is his greatest love. He is married to Nichole Doucet Dupre’ and they have two active and loving children.
Ray is deeply honored and grateful to be able to serve the families of the area and his hometown of Opelousas now and into the future.

Lonnie is a native of Rayville, La and a resident of Opelousas. he is a second generation Funeral Director. He is married and has 2 children. While helping his dad in the funeral home he would run flowers, visitation, make removals and also help on funerals.
Lonnie graduated from Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service in Houston in 1992. He has worked at Brown-Holley Funeral Home in Rayville, Batesville Funeral Service in Batesville, AR and Ardoin Funeral Home in Ville Platte for 9 years before joining the staff at Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home.
Lonnie has been a Master Mason in the Masonic Lodge for 11 years. Lonnie loves helping people during their most trying times.

Sonja was born in Port Elizabeth, South Africa to Dutch and Rumanian parents. She graduated from High School in Johannesburg and was employed at Barclays Bank for 14 years, last 6 years as a teller. She lost her first husband in August 1967 and had a daughter in December 1967. She remarried an American in 1971 who was in South Africa on an oil assignment. They moved to the states in 1972. They had a daughter in December 1972. She became a bi-centennial citizen in 1976. While returning home from Singapore on home leave her husband passed away at the Singapore airport in 1981.
Sonja now has 2 super son-in-laws and 4 beautiful grandchildren. She taught Pre-K4 from 1981 to 1995 in Opelousas. From 1995 to date she has been employed with Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home as bookkeeper.
Her hobbies are knitting, swimming and people. She is very active with her church, La. Memorial United Methodist Church. One of her activities is director of the children’s hand-bell choir. She is also the President of the La. United Methodist Women Auxilliary and is a member of the Opelousas Little Theater.

Johann has been employed by Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home since October 2003. She is married to Jay Higdon and has three children; Jason, Chrism, and Hona. She also has three beautiful grandchildren. Johann is very active in the Melville Pentecostal Church. Her hobbies are sewing and crafts.

Effie is a native of Evangeline Parish and is a resident of Krotz Springs since 1957. She is widowed and has 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She has been employed at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home since January 1999. Effie is very active in the St. Anthony Catholic Church, also with senior citizen program in Krotz Springs. She enjoys cooking for her family, sewing and quilting.
