Opelousas – A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2017 for Vivian Jane Stelly Moreau in the Skip Montet Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas. Rev. Austin Leger will officiate the service. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday.
Mrs. Moreau, age 66 and resident of Opelousas, passed away on Friday, October 13, 2017 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Nursing Home.
Vivian was the co-founder and previous owner of Futures Unlimited Preschool and Daycare in Opelousas. She also volunteered for the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office Triad. Vivian loved children and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her loving husband, James Marshall Moreau; daughter, Shannon Beard and her husband, Shane Beard; also nurtured and loved as a daughter, Dr. Kim DaKin and her husband, Andy DaKin; brothers, Joseph “Boobie” Stelly and David Stelly and his wife, Angie Stelly; sisters, Marie Guillory and her husband, Peter Guillory, Thelma “Tee” Stelly and her husband, Glynn Stelly and Sandra Wyble and her husband, Karlen Wyble; sister-in-law, Theresa Moreau Beaugh and her husband, Tony Beaugh; grandchildren, Joachin DeVillier, Hunter DeVillier and his fiancé, Alexis Robinson, Alexis DeVillier, Landon DeVillier, Shaina Beard, Haleigh Beard, Harley Beard and Alexis Beard; children also nurtured as grandchildren, Hannah DaKin, Joshua DaKin and Adam Dakin; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Mervin Stelly; mother, Thelma DeVillier; brother, Tommy Stelly; sister, Connie Stelly; mother and father-in-law, Alexis and Lucy Moreau; and niece, Melanie Guillory Guidroz.
