A memorial service will be held for John Ray Gautreaux at 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 18, 2018, in the Skip Montet Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas. The memorial service will be conducted by Reverend Eldon Reeves with visitation being held on Sunday from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM.
Mr. Gautreaux, age 63, a resident of Opelousas, LA, passed away on Monday, March 12, 2018.
John was a musician and enjoyed playing the guitar. He worked as a soundman with the Louisiana's LeRoux. His talent and passion for music will always be remembered. John will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Survivors are his son, Eric John Gautreaux; his step-daughter, Sarah Shuff; his brothers, Merrick "Noonie" Gautreaux, Joseph Nolan "Bubba" Gautreaux, David Gautreaux; his sisters, Mary Alice Lavergne, Loretta Ducharme, Faye Soileau all of Opelousas, LA and two grandchildren, Sebastien Gautreaux and Lexie Perrodin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Merrick John Gautreaux and Willie Mae Bihm Gautreaux.
LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas, 2845 South Union Street, Opelousas, LA 70570 (337-942-2638) has been entrusted with the arrangements.
