Opelousas - A Funeral Service will be held for Daniel Glenn Johnson on Thursday, October 11, 2018, at 11:00 AM in the Skip Montet Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas. Father Gene Tremie will conduct the service. Burial will be held in the Methodist Church Cemetery in Palmetto, LA.
Mr. Johnson, age 71, a resident of Opelousas, LA, passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2018, at Opelousas General Health System.
Daniel served his country proudly in the United States Navy and was a member of the American Pool Players Association for many years. He managed the Acadiana Wilderness Campground in Opelousas for over 15 years. Daniel enjoyed playing golf and a good game of pool. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Carolyn C. Johnson; his son, Ben Johnson; his four grandchildren, Taylor Stelly, Madison Savoy, Blakelyn Johnson, Stetson Johnson; and two great-grandchildren, Brylor Stelly and Brylee Stelly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben Johnson and Betty Johnson Soileau; his brother, Donnie Johnson and his sister, Charlotte Coulon.
Visitation will be held at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 from 3:00 PM until 10:00 PM and will reopen at 8:00 AM on Thursday, October 11, 2018.
Pallbearers will be Ben Johnson, Randy Brasseux, Freddie Chautin, Ronnie Leger and Tyler Knott.
