Obituary

Aaron Thomas Lormand, age 53, a devoted husband and father, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at his residence in Grand Prairie, Louisiana. Born on January 4, 1973, in Lafayette, Louisiana, Aaron's life was characterized by dedication both to his career and to his family.

A Memorial Service for Aaron Lormand will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, May 25, 2026, in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond- Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas. Deacon Shawn Melancon will officiate the funeral service

A Gathering of family and friends will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Monday, May 25, 2026, in the Skip Montet Chapel in Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas. 

Aaron built a respected career as an instrumentation electrical technician, a role he fulfilled with expertise and commitment for many years. His professional accomplishments were matched only by his passion for outdoors. He found great joy in fishing, hunting, and tending his vegetable garden, pursuits that connected him deeply with nature and provided a source of personal fulfillment.

Aaron's family was the cornerstone of his life. He is survived by his beloved wife of 24 years, Laurie Saucier Lormand of Grand Prairie. Together, they raised three children: his son, Garrett Thomas Lormand of Garland; and his daughters, Olivia Ann Lormand of Grand Prairie; and Kale Elizabeth Lormand of Grand Prairie. Aaron cherished his role as a father and took great pride in his children’s growth and accomplishments.

He is also survived by his father, Herby Lormand of Scott; his mother, Sylvia Bacque Lormand of Lafayette; his brother, Reggie Lormand and wife, Aggie of Lafayette; and his sister, Nancy Lormand of Scott; his brother-in-law, Michael Saucier and wife, Kylie of Grand Prairie; and his nieces and nephew.

Aaron was preceded in death by his brother, Timmy Lormand; his father-in-law, Robert Saucier and mother-in-law, Kay Soileau Saucier.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Aaron to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Aaron Thomas Lormand’s life will be remembered for his dedication to his family and his work and his love for the outdoors. His presence will be deeply missed, and his memory cherished by all who knew him.
