Floyd Bourgeois

Lawtell - Funeral services for Floyd Bourgeois, age 71, will be held on Sunday, July 6, 2008 at 12:00 p.m. in the St. Bridget Catholic Church, followed by interment in the church cemetery.

The Reverend Daniel Picard will conduct the Mass of Christian Burial.

Mr. Bourgeois, who was a resident of Lawtell, died at 4:32 p.m. July 4, 2008 at Opelousas General Health System.

Survivors include a close personal friend, Ms. Enola Dupre of Lawtell; two sisters, Bathilda Vigil of Lawtell and Florence Meche of Opelousas, 5 nieces, 3 nephews, 4 great nieces and 1 great nephew.

Mr. Bourgeois was preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Elia Deville Bourgeois; three brothers, Riley, Calvin, and Donald Bourgeois and a sister, Nadine Savoy.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Saturday, July 5, 2008 from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday until time of service. A rosary will be held on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
