Adonna "Tootie" Dickson, age 67, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on December 5, 2023, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette, Louisiana. She was born on July 16, 1956, in Opelousas, Louisiana. Adonna's passing leaves a void in the hearts of all those who knew and loved her.

The memories we have of Adonna are filled with love and joy. She adored spending time with her family and found true happiness in the presence of her great-grandchildren. Her face would light up whenever she saw them, and they brought immeasurable joy to her life. Adonna's legacy is deeply rooted in the love and bond she shared with her family.

Adonna's hobbies reflected her appreciation for the simple pleasures in life. She loved being outdoors, whether it was fishing or squirrel hunting. Adonna was also known for her talent in crocheting beautiful creations and immersing herself in the world of books.

Her warm and nurturing spirit extended beyond her family to everyone she encountered. Adonna had an unmatched ability to make those around her feel loved and valued. Her kind heart touched many lives throughout her journey.

The funeral services to honor and celebrate Adonna's life will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at 1:00 PM in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Melville, located at 607 1st St, Melville, LA 71353. The visitation will also take place on Saturday, December 9, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM.

Adonna is survived by her grandchildren, Sheena Shaw (Marcus Davenport Sr.), Erin Meyers (Juan Guillory), Preston Shaw, Devin Shaw (Ali DuBois), and her great-grandchildren, Malaya Davenport, Mariel Davenport, Marcus Davenport, Jr., Maurice Davenport, Adrian Meyers, Aubri' Lee Guillory, Amelia Guillory and Aicen Shaw.  She is also survived by her nephews, Phillip Fontenot, Brent LaHaye, Daimen LaHaye, Mark Fontenot, Joey Fontenot and Derek Landry; her niece, Malissa Fontenot; and her Godchildren, Kaylie LaHaye and Landon LaHaye.

Adonna was preceded in death by her parents, Bobby Dickson Sr. and Doris Tomsa Dickson; her children, Kerisa Shaw and Gary Meyers Jr., as well as her brothers, Bobby Dickson, Jr. and Ronnie Dickson; her sisters, Peggy Dickson and Kathy LaHaye, and her nephew, Frank LaHaye. Adonna's presence will be deeply missed by her entire family.

Adonna "Tootie" Dickson will forever live in our hearts as a woman whose love knew no bounds. Her unwavering devotion to her family and friends will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. As we bid farewell to Adonna, let us carry forward her legacy of love and compassion in our own lives. May she rest in eternal peace.
