Agnes Fontenot

Opelousas - Funeral services for Agnes Fontenot, age 96, will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel, followed by interment in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington.

Rev. Angelo Cremaldi will conduct the services.

Agnes Ortego, a resident of St. Tammany Parish, formerly of Washington, LA, died at 1:30 a.m. on May 18, 2008 at Greenbriar Nursing Home in Slidell, LA.

Mrs. Fontenot is survived by her daughters, Ellen J. Wooters of Slidell, LA; Melanie Palliser of Metairie, LA; her sons, Richard C. Fontenot of Pumpkin Center, LA; Anthony Lee Roy Fontenot of Paulina, LA; her brother, Albert Ortego, Jr. of Washington, LA; her sisters, Anna Lee Dunbar of Opelousas, LA; Helen Hebert of Washington, LA and Vera Prudhomme of Lafayette, LA. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. Fontenot was preceded in death by her husband, Wycliffe Fontenot; her brothers, Bernard Ortego, Hebert Ortego; Lionel Ortego; Richard Ortego; Aaron Ortego; Vernon Ortego; Adner Ortego and her sisters, Rose Ardoin, Ena Ortego, Irma Joubert and a grandson, Anthony Lee Roy, Jr.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. A rosary will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at 11:00 a.m.
