Funeral Services for Alexson Thomas Stelly, age 29, will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas, Louisiana. Deacon Dwayne Joubert will conduct the services. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas, La.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 2:00 p.m. in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas.

Alexson Thomas Stelly was born on September 10, 1996, at Ft. Polk, Louisiana. To his friends he was called Alex. He was a 2014 graduate of Sam Houston High School in Moss Bluff where he played in the marching band. He was also in the marching band at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. His favorites were skateboarding, his Subaru WRX, gaming, and going to music festivals. He was interested in the Japanese way of life and wanted to travel to Japan. He was always willing to try new foods and loved to eat. But, he loved his family the most. He is survived by his parents, Ricky and Susan, his brother, Ryan James, and his beloved nephew, Ryland James, and niece, Audrey Erin. He leaves to cherish his Nanny, Vicky Guidroz, and his aunts, Joann Stelly, Darlene Speyrer, and Linda Corona along with many cousins.

Alexson was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, George and Nettie Stelly and his maternal grandfather, Donald Shahan and his maternal grandmother, Mary Childers and his step-grandfather, Roy Childers.

He lived life to the fullest and fought a valiant, courageous battle. Alexson, you are loved and forever in our hearts.
