Alfred "Bubba" Leonce Benoit, Jr., age 58, passed away on July 13, 2026, at Ochsner - Lafayette General Medical Center. He was born on November 1, 1967, in Opelousas, Louisiana.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 24, 2026, in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas, LA. Deacon Dwayne Joubert will officiate the service. 

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 24, 2026, in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas, LA. 

Known affectionately as "Bubba" to friends and family, Alfred was a lifelong resident of Louisiana whose warmth and dedication touched everyone he met. His enduring work ethic was evident throughout his more than 40-year career as a butcher, where he served customers at Floyd's Grocery, A & P Grocery, Piggly Wiggly, and Delchamps. He made the best boudin for his family. He cherished spending time outdoors, whether fishing in Louisiana’s abundant waters or hunting in the quiet woods. A life rich in hard work, care, and love, Alfred "Bubba" Leonce Benoit, Jr. will be dearly missed. "In keeping with his loving and generous spirit, his final act of kindness was to give the gift of life through organ donation."

He is survived by his son, Beau Hunter Benoit of Opelousas, LA; his daughter, Kristie Benoit Faul and husband, Ashtyn of Lake Charles, LA; his sister, Margaret “Meg” Benoit Fontenot of Lafayette, LA; the mother of his children, Robbin LeDoux of Lake Charles, LA; his sister-in-law, Stephanie Lynn Hooks Benoit of Opelousas, LA; his grandchildren, Elizabth Marie Norse, Noah Stone Faul, Ryker East Faul and Dallas James Faul; his nieces and nephews, Jonah Shaine Fontenot and wife, Stephanie Sumrall Fontenot; Jada Danielle Fontenot and husband, Kyle Boudreaux; Caden Jacob Journet; his nephew and Godchild, Joshua Blake Benoit; and Kaleb Aaron Benoit; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Cole Eliote Soileau, Abrielle Cabernet Nellis, Arianna Cae Boudreaux, Jolie Layne Fontenot, Moon Anna-Marie Journet, Sophia Benoit, Vivian Benoit, Jaxon Benoit and Chase Michael Benoit.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Trisha Lynn Olivier Benoit; his parents, Alfred Leonce Benoit, Sr. and Margaret Anna Ortego Benoit; his brother, John Dwain Benoit; his sister, Dwauna Marie Benoit; and his Godchild, Cori Renee Cortez.
