Andrew’s professional journey was marked by a deep commitment to both the oil industry and his local community. He spent many years working as a tool pusher for Comet Drilling and Greywolf, where his leadership was present in the oilfield. Later, he devoted 17 years as a bus driver with the St. Landry Parish School Board. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to own and operate Andrew’s Cajun Kitchen in Lawtell, Louisiana, a beloved establishment where he delighted patrons with his cooking and warm hospitality.
A lifelong enthusiast of racehorses, Andrew took great pride in owning a racehorse. Among his favorite pastimes was cooking, and he always enjoyed having a “Freco,” a testament to the authentic Cajun flavors he so loved to share.
Andrew is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Anderson and her husband, Christopher of Carencro; his sisters, Angie Stanford of Opelousas; Linda Babineaux of Lawtell; Carolyn Faul and her husband, Dave of Lawtell; and Tammy Prudhomme and her husband, Kenneth of Lawtell; his brother-in-law, Larry Robinson; his sisters-in-law, Sandra Castille, Theresa Castille, and Judy Castille all of Lawtell; along with his cherished grandchildren Amelia, Estella, and Christian Anderson. Andrew’s family extends with a host of nieces, nephews, and extended relatives who will remember him fondly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joel Castille, Sr. and Lilly Richard Castille; his sisters, Dorothy Robinson, Jo Ann Castille, and Shirley Olivier and her husband, Turlin; his brothers, Etienne Castille and wife Curnis; Elgie Castille and wife, Matilda; Joel Castille, Jr., Carol Castille and wife, Doris; Murphy Castille, and Gurphy Castille; as well as brothers-in-law, Ira Stanford and Daniel Babineaux, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Chris Anderson, Jared Babineaux, J. D. Faul, Jake Faul, Matthew Castille, and Luke Prudhomme. Honorary pallbearers will be Christian Anderson and Michael LeBlanc.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to his sisters, his niece, Robin Castille, the staff of Hospice of Acadiana, especially Tonya and Candace for the care and compassion that Andrew received; and to the staff and residents of Acadia St. Landry Guest Home who loved him dearly.
