Melville - Funeral services for Anthony Clark will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 4, 2022, in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel in Melville. Fr. Francis Miller will officiate the service. Rite of Committal will be held at the Clark Family Cemetery.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Anthony Clark, age 96, on Friday, February 25, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Anthony left school at the age of ten and with only a sixth-grade education, he worked to help support his family. Once married, with a family of his own, he worked in construction and farmed to provide for his family of seven. He devoted his life to church and gave his time to help with church functions. Anthony enjoyed being outdoors, cutting grass, helping on the farm, tending to his vegetable garden, and seeing about his dog and cats. He was the best dad, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend. Anthony will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his sons, Brett Clark and wife, Annie, of Bayou Current, La., Bill Clark and wife, Gracie, of Hessmer, La., Gregory Clark of Bayou Current, La. and special friend, Sharyn; his daughters, Crystal Stelly and husband, Jessie, of Grosse Tete, La. and Melissa Herpin and husband, Craig, of Rosedale, La. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Brett Michael and wife, Felicia, Tiffany, Micah and wife, Laurel, Lindsey and husband, Andy, Amber and husband, Logan, Brittany and husband, Austin, Chase and wife, Amie, Meagan and husband, Taylor, Sarah, Emma, Elizabeth, Chase, Kelsey and husband, Taylor and his great-grandchildren, Clayton, Gavin, Garrett, Gracie, Gretta, Gage, Grant, Gracelyn, Jacob Lane, Wyatt, Beau, Stella Rose, Lucy, Josie, Sadie, Kimber, Tucker, Hayden and Ava.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Rose G. Clark; his parents, Xavier and Lena Clark; his grandson, Jacob Anthony Clark; his brothers, Joe, Victor and Sammy Clark; his sisters, Frances Barragan, Rosie Schexnayder, Lucy Polotzola and Katie Ponthieux.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Melville with rosary being prayed at 6:00 p.m. The funeral home will reopen on Friday, March 4, 2022, from 8:00 a.m. until time of service at 10:00 a.m.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Brett Michael Clark, Chase Clark and Micah Clark and his nephews, Gerald Bertholl, David Bertholl and Michael Gerace.
LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Melville, 607 1st Street, Melville, La. 71353, has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
