Arlene Galliano Baracco, born on October 12, 1952, in New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026, at The Carpenter House in Lafayette, Louisiana. She was beloved by all who knew her, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of her family, friends, and community.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2026, in St. Landry Catholic Church, 1020 North Main Street, Opelousas, LA 70570.
Arlene dedicated her career as an accountant and Chief Financial Officer, where her commitment to excellence and integrity was evident. Beyond her professional contributions, she was deeply involved in her family, volunteering with the Boy Scouts and actively participating in her children's schools throughout the years. She was also a very dedicated and devout Catholic. Her legacy as a caring and devoted individual extended far beyond her career.
Arlene's nurturing nature and kind heart made her an extraordinary caregiver. She always put others' needs before her own, embodying generosity and selflessness in everything she did. Her love for her pets and the many dogs she cared for during her life was a testament to her compassionate spirit. Arlene enjoyed crocheting, decorating for the holidays, and took pride in her organizational skills, hobbies that brought her joy and fulfillment.
As a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend, Arlene was the glue that held her family together. She was a very loving and caring presence in the lives of her children: her daughter, Kelly Baracco Morel and her husband, Kenny; her son, Philip A. Baracco, Jr.; her former daughter-in-law, Aimee Leblanc Baracco; and her son, Christopher A. Baracco and his wife, Hope. The cherished memories she created with her grandchildren—Madison Baracco, Makenzie Baracco, Philip "Tripp" Baracco III, and Julia Morel—will live on in their hearts forever. She is survived by her siblings, Wayne Galliano and his wife, Pam, and Joann Galliano Bonura and her husband, Joe, who will remember her loving nature.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Philip A. Baracco, Sr.; her parents, Joseph Galliano and Doris Macaluso Galliano; her brothers, Calvin Galliano and Roy Galliano; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, George A. Baracco Sr. and Marie Heavey Baracco.
Arlene Galliano Baracco will be greatly missed beyond words. Her legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering support for those around her will forever remain in the hearts of her loved ones.
