Betty F. Ray, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on May 8, 2024, at her residence in Opelousas, Louisiana. She was born on September 27, 1932, in Ville Platte, Louisiana. Betty's warm and loving personality touched the lives of all who knew her.

Funeral services for Betty F. Ray will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, in the Skip Monet Memorial Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Deacon Dwayne Joubert will conduct the service.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. until the1:30 p.m. A Rosary will be recited by Deacon Joubert, with the service following. The burial will be at Bellevue Memorial Park.

Betty cherished her family above all else. Her grandchildren were her world, and she found immense joy in spending time with them. Known for her love for animals, she loved caring for her grand pups - Molly and Marlie.

In her free time, Betty enjoyed various hobbies that brought her happiness.  You could find her shopping, tending to her flower garden with care, whipping up delicious meals in the kitchen, or embarking on leisurely car rides to the countryside with her family - Betty found delight in the simple pleasures of life.  

Among the many who will miss Betty are her son, Jimmy Ray and his wife, Beverly; her daughters, Marian Darby and her husband, Felix; Annette Ray and Linda Ray; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces and nephews who were touched by her kindness. 

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Noah and Rena Fontenot; her son, Edward “Dwight” Ray; and the father of her children, Donald C. Ray. 
 
Betty F. Ray will be remembered for her kind heart, unwavering love for family, and joyful spirit. She has left an indelible mark on all who knew her and will be deeply missed.
 
The family would love to thank the amazing staff of Hospice of Acadiana and her nurses for the amazing care she received.
