Beverly Marie Belleau LaFleur was born on November 7, 1934, and entered into eternal rest on November 2, 2025, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Opelousas. She is remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, whose loving spirit was felt by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Funeral services for Beverly LaFleur, age 90, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. until time of services at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place in the St. Bridget Catholic Church Cemetery in Lawtell, La.
Beverly and her late husband, John D. LaFleur, were the proud owners of LaFleur's Slaughterhouse, Meat Market and Grocery in Mamou, Louisiana, a business that later became known as "T-Boy's." Her career also spanned many years as a certified nursing assistant (CNA) home health nurse, where she dedicated herself to driving patients to and from their appointments.
Beverly had a passion for the outdoors, including hunting and fishing, often indulging in her love for gardening and tending to her cherished flowers. Those who gathered around her table experienced the warmth of her fantastic cooking, as family meals were an integral part of her life. A talented seamstress, she skillfully made doll clothes and costumes for dance recitals.
Throughout her life, Beverly was known for her caring nature, nurturing and taking care of several grandchildren over the years. She was actively involved in her community, serving on the bereavement committee and as a member of the Catholic Daughters at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Lawtell, Louisiana.
She is survived by her sons, Bobby LaFleur and wife, Janice, of Lawtell, LA; Don LaFleur of Mamou, LA; and Kenneth LaFleur and wife, Therese, of Lawtell, LA; her daughters, Rebecca Fay LaFleur of Lawtell, LA, and Angelique Renee LaFleur of Covington, LA; her sister-in-law, Rose Belleau of Krotz Springs, LA; her sons-in-law, Felton Matt of Port Barre, LA, and James Richard "Ricky" Deshotel of Redell, LA; her sisters, Velma Belleau Stelly and husband, Donald, of Krotz Springs, LA, and Leanna Belleau Charmie and husband, Harold, of Golden Meadows, LA; along with 23 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Beverly is preceded in death by her husband, John D. LaFleur; her parents, Alphan Belleau and Gladys Olivier Belleau; her son, Peter Layne LaFleur; her daughters, Elizabeth Ann LaFleur Deshotel and Michelle LaFleur; her grandchild, Cory Lee LaFleur; and her sisters, Melba Lahaye and Evelyna Dekerlegand, as well as her brothers, Bryan Belleau and Albert Belleau.
The cherished memories of Beverly will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched. Her remarkable life and unwavering love will not be forgotten.
