Throughout his life, Terry exemplified the values of hard work and dedication. He worked as a carpenter for home construction for several years. He was a jack of all trades. He also worked as an electrician’s helper for offshore and A/C and refrigeration. Outside of his work, Terry found contentment in being outdoors. Hunting, fishing, gardening, and spending time with family and friends were among his favorite pastimes. He also was devout Catholic. Terry was known for never meeting a stranger; his kindness and generosity drew people to him. Always ready to lend a hand or offer support. His giving spirit, openness, and warmth endeared him to family, friends, neighbors, and all who had the fortune to cross his path.
Terry is survived by his mother, Barbara Hebert Nugent of Sunset; his daughters, Tiffany Prudhomme Lyons of Branch; and Casey Lynn Prudhomme and her companion, Gabriel “Gabe” Borel of Sulphur; his brothers, Aaron “Spud” Nugent of Sunset; and Audie Nugent and wife, Chris of Sunset; his sister, Shelly Nugent Albrecht and her husband, Richard of Shreveport. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jaysa Prudhomme, Jazzlyn Prudhomme, Tyson Lyons, Jayden Rigsby, and Nova Borel; his great-grandchild, Kade Ware; and a host of nephews and a niece.
He was preceded in death by his father, Merlin “Toot” Nugent; the mother of his children, Tammy Lynn Prudhomme; his sister, Angela “Angie” Nugent; his daughter, Shantel Nikki Prudhomme; his son-in-law, Marvin J. Lyons; and his great-grandson, Ashton Ware.
Terry’s family and friends celebrate his life with deep respect and lasting gratitude for the years shared, and for the love, kindness, and generosity he showed at every opportunity. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
