Charles Halphen

Krotz Springs - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 2, 2018 for Charles E. Halphen at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Krotz Springs. Father Michael DeBlanc will officiate the Mass. Rite of Committal will be held at Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas.

Charles E. Halphen, age 84 and a resident of Krotz Springs, passed away on Monday, July 30, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his family.

Charles worked as an Industrial Hygienist at Dow Chemical for 30 years. He took an early retirement to raise cattle with his son, Steve. Charles was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. Charles enjoyed painting and was an excellent artist. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Audrey Lacassin Halphen; daughter, Marie Kaiser and her husband, Johnny; sons, Scott Halphen and his wife, Dianne and Will Halphen and his wife, Mayumi; grandchildren, John Kaiser and his wife, Kim, Chuck Kaiser and his wife, Andrea, Billy Kaiser and his wife, Jaime, Michael Kaiser and his wife, Laci, Renee Aymond and her husband, Yancy, Alison Hebert and her husband, Chad, Kathryn Halphen, Emily Wellen and her husband, Josh, Natalie Halphen, Misa Halphen, Sandra Castille and her husband, David, Jason Halphen and his wife, Kelsey, Laurel Halphen, David Halphen and his wife, Sara, Crystal Babineaux and Sandi Babineaux; great-grandchildren, Evan, Anna, Sydney, Abigail, Jordan, Bethany, Isabelle, Kaleb, Kailee, Corley, Cade, Kesslar, Zachary, Maci, Maxum, Wyatt, Cole, Avery, Mackenzie, Maycee, Ella, Joey, Terry, Finn, Rowan, Alyssa, August, Ayden, Morgan, Cade, Hayden, and Gabriel; and great-great-grandchildren, Kali and Braylin.

He was preceded in death by his former wife and mother of his children, Rita Halphen; parents, Michael and Noemi Burr Halphen; son, Steven Halphen, daughter-in-law, Terri Halphen; grandson, Andy Halphen; and great-grandchildren, Mathew Ardoin, Job' Halphen and Tristen Babineaux.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Krotz Springs. A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Visitation will continue on Thursday, August 2, 2018 from 8:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Pallbearers will be Jason Halphen, David Halphen, John Alvin Kaiser, Chuck Kaiser, Billy Kaiser and Michael Kaiser.
