It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Ms. Charlotte Lynn Duvall on Friday, April 28, 2023, at Tri-Community Nursing Home in Palmetto, LA, at the age of 57 years old.  She was born in Lafayette and was a longtime resident of Melville, LA.  She was a beautiful mother and grandmother who was a loving and caring person.  She always put the needs of others before herself.  Her world revolved around her children, and grandchildren.  She always made sure to have a hot meal waiting when they walked through the door of her home.  She loved being outdoors and taking care of her plants.  Everyone knew her as the sweetest woman until you made her mad-as some called her to be a pistol. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her sons, Phillip Gerald Duvall, Sr. and Travis Dwayne Duvall, Sr., both of Melville; her daughter, Tonya Duvall Deville and husband, Rustin Deville of Port Barre; and eight grandchildren: Phillip Gerald Duvall, Jr., Alexis Nicole Duvall, Jaden Duvall, Colton Deville, Aiden Deville, Faithlyn Maldonado, Travis Duvall, Jr., and Ayla Duvall.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde Duvall and Edrena Rodriguez Duvall; her brother, Travis Dale Duvall; and her sister, Bridget Duvall Ponthieux.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the First United Pentecostal Church Hall, 112 Fontenot Street, Melville, LA.   On Wednesday, visitation will continue from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the First United Pentecostal Church Hall of Melville.

The pallbearers will be Jake Ponthieux, Phillip (“PJ”) Duvall, Jr., Colton Deville, Rustin Deville, Jerry Phillips, and Harold Worley, Sr.  The honorary pallbearer will be Aiden Deville.
