Clarence John Gobert, age 69, was born on July 20, 1957, in Lafayette, Louisiana and passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Clarence’s life was marked by devotion, warmth, and a sincere love for his family and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Clarence John Gobert at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at St. Ann Catholic Church in Mallet, LA. Father Greg Semien will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal and Burial will be held in the St. Ann Catholic Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be John Paul Gobert, Heath James Landry, Manuel Taylor Nunez, Darryl Joseph Gobert, Kevin Matthew Gobert and Walter Toliver. Honorary pallbearers will be Christian Gobert, Derrick Gobert, Durel Gobert, Trenton Gobert, Jamore Jones and Elijah Gobert, Jr.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at St. Ann Catholic Church in Mallet, LA, (located at 8348 U.S. 190, Opelousas, LA 70570) beginning at 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. A Rosary will be recited at 9:00 a.m.

Clarence was the voice and face of Automotive Specialists of Lafayette along with his brother Darryl for the last 24 years. He was a lifelong parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church in Mallet and served as the First Eucharistic Minister. He enjoyed collecting coins, working in his garden, taking care of his yard and doing small carpentry projects. He met no strangers and no enemies. He became a shoulder for everyone, and everything needed. Sometimes he was even the shoulder you did not know you needed. Most of all, the greatest thing that ever happened to him was his grandchildren, every single one of them.

Clarence is survived by his fiancé, Jocelyn Ann Boudreaux of Breaux Bridge; his mother, Ellavert Ann Gobert of Prairie Ronde.; his sons, John Paul Gobert of Centerville; and Heath James Landry of Breaux Bridge; his daughter, Paralee “Franny” Gobert of Franklin; his brothers, Darryl Joseph Gobert and wife, Jane of Lafayette; and Kevin Matthew Gobert and wife, Alysia of Lafayette; and his sister, Mary Ella Fuselier of Prairie Ronde. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Manuel Taylor Nunez and Jamore Anthony Jones of Franklin; Avah Landry, Layla Landry and Alyson Landry all of Breaux Bridge.

He is preceded in death by his father, Clarence Gobert; and his three brothers, David Gobert, Daniel Gobert and Elijah Gobert.

Those who knew Clarence will remember him for his unwavering spirit, his generous heart, and his ability to bring people together. His legacy of joy, fellowship, and love will remain cherished by all whose lives he touched.
