Clarence Schlomer, Jr.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, February 4, 2018 for Clarence "Eddie" Edward Schlomer, Jr. in the Skip Montet Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas. Deacon Ulysse Joubert will officiate the service with visitation beginning at 9:00 AM until time of service. A rosary will be prayed at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Schlomer, age 68 and a resident of Opelousas, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2018.

Eddie was a founding member of Theta Chi at Northwestern State University. He enjoyed traveling, reading, watching sports and spending time with his family. Eddie will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Cheryl Richard Schlomer; his sister, Phyllis Lenz of Leesville, LA; his mother-in-law, Versie Richard of Opelousas, LA; his aunts, Mary Frederick of Leesville, LA and Elsie Guillory of Opelousas, LA; his brother and sister-in-law, David W. Richard and wife, Rhonda of Opelousas, LA; his nieces, Paula Warburton and husband, Bobby of Sunrise, FL; Angela Yancey and husband, Alton of Austin, TX; his niece and goddaughter, Brandi R. Marks and husband, Brad of Opelousas, LA; his nephews, Scott Cooke and wife, Cindy of Gardner, MA; Kenny Cooke of Leesville, LA; Aaron Richard and husband, Aric Meyer of Washington, LA and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Edward Schlomer, Sr. and Laura McElveen Schlomer; his sister, Pam Greer; niece, Laura Greer and several aunts and uncles.

Pallbearers will be Aaron Richard, Charles Richard, Bill Fontenot, Kenneth Reed, Larry Fadaol, Steven Richard, Scott Pitre and Richard Reed. Honorary pallbearers will be Aric Meyer, Brad Marks, Ronald Richard, Al Richard and Robert Reed.
