Clovis “Dusty” R. Meche, Jr., age 75, passed away on September 7, 2026, at St. Francis Cabrini Hospital. He was born on August 3, 1951, in Church Point, Louisiana.
Visitation for Dusty will be held in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel in Krotz Springs, La. on Saturday, September 12, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A Rosary will be recited at 11:30 a.m. and a Funeral Service will follow in the funeral home at 12:00 p.m. with Father Henry Antony officiating.
Dusty will be remembered as a hardworking man who owned and operated Meche’s Electric for more than 25 years. Through his work, he built a life marked by dedication and steady commitment.
Dusty found great joy in the simple pleasures he loved most. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he especially loved watching hunting and fishing television programs. Time spent at his camp brought him happiness, and he took special pleasure in cooking for family and friends. He also cherished spending time with his dog, Willie, whose companionship was a meaningful part of his days.
He is survived by his son, Michael J. Meche; his daughter, Sondra Cifreo; his sisters, Cheryl Soileau (M.J.), Lynn Kimble (Donnie) and Suzanne Hollis (Greg). He is also survived by one grandchild, Meghan Cifreo, soon to be Doctor. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Bruce Soileau (Amy), Amiee Soileau, Amanda Crawford (Peter), Damien Kimble (Maggie), Cherie Langlinais (Ben) and Jerry Hollis; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Meche; his parents, Clovis R. Meche, Sr. and Gayle Poe Meche; his niece, Holly Hollis and his brother-in-law and best friend, Greg Hollis.
Dusty’s life was shaped by the things he loved and the moments he shared with others. He will be remembered with affection by all who knew him.
