Clyde Ray Zeringue passed away on September 7, 2026, at the age of 76.

Born on July 15, 1950, Clyde will be remembered as a man who found joy in creativity, music, and the outdoors. He was an excellent craftsman who enjoyed making wood projects as a hobby. He also loved spending time outside, where gardening and fishing were among the simple pleasures that brought him happiness.

Music was a meaningful part of Clyde’s life. During his years at Patterson High School, he was a member of the high school band, where he played the clarinet. In his spare time, he also loved listening to music and playing the guitar, continuing a lifelong appreciation for music and expression.

He is survived by his brothers, Zeke Zeringue of Astoria, Oregon; Davey Zeringue and wife, Suzy, of Carencro, LA; Alvin Zeringue and wife, Michele, of Lafayette, LA; Dwayne Zeringue and wife, Maria, of Arnaudville, LA and Bobby Zeringue of Lafayette, LA; his sisters, Alice Toby of Arnaudville, LA; Freda Stelly & husband, Robert, of Leonville, LA and Diana Lynn Chaisson, of Leonville, LA. He also is survived by a host of loving nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Hervin Altuise Zeringue and Alfreda Stelly Zeringue; his daughter, Layla V. Zeringue; his brothers, Harold J. Zeringue and Freddie Zeringue; his sister-in-law, Sue Zeringue and his brother-in-law, “P.J.” Toby.

Clyde will be remembered for the quiet joys he embraced and the talents he shared through the things he loved most. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
