Deacon Francis Dwayne Boudreaux

Leonville – A Mass of Christian Burial for Deacon Francis Dwayne Boudreaux will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2023, in the St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Leonville, LA.  Father Darren Eldridge will Celebrate the Mass.   

Deacon Francis Dwayne Boudreaux of Opelousas, La. passed away peacefully on Friday, July 7, 2023, at his residence at the age of 68. 

Dwayne and his wife, Diane, continue to operate Boudreaux’s Services, a local family business.  Dwayne’s faith was very important to him.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and loved serving God.  His biggest accomplishment other than being a loving Husband, Dad, and Pawpaw, was being ordained as a Deacon with the Diocese of Lafayette on September 9, 2006.  Dwayne also loved spending time with his family and riding his motorcycle.  His legacy will continue to inspire all who knew him and may his soul rest in peace.

Dwayne is survived by his wife of 45 years, Diane Boudreaux; his sons, Josh Boudreaux, Jonathon Boudreaux, Victor Boudreaux and Adam Boudreaux; his daughters, Bethany Jackson, Anye Lege’ and Logan McMillan; his brother, Ronnie Boudreaux; his sisters, Debra Stelly, Jackie Pitre and Carolyn “Dolly” Moreau.  He is also survived by his 21 grandchildren, Andrae, Allie, Alyssa, Ashlyn, Isabella, Anna, Celia, Alivya, Jack, Warren, Leila, Charlotte, Cynthia, Edith, Isaiah, Ian, Nathan, Georgiana, Lacie, Macie, and Austin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vickman and Dale Boudreaux; his grandparents, his paternal grandparents, Alcee and Blanche Boudreaux, Sr.; his maternal grandparents, Paul and Lela dAugereau; his brothers, Erney Boudreaux and Bruce Boudreaux; and his granddaughter, Lacie McMillan.

A visitation will be held in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on, Friday, July 14, 2023, from 2:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. A Rosary will be prayed on Friday evening at 7:00 p.m.   The funeral home will re-open on Saturday, July 15, 2023, from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. 

Pallbearers will be Josh Boudreaux, Jonathon Boudreaux, Victor Boudreaux, Adam Boudreaux, Patrick Knott, Ronnie Boudreaux, Dustin Knott, Ivy Jackson, II, and Derek McMillan.
