Tom retired as a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force after 21 years of service, and he remained a proud veteran throughout his life. His commitment to serving others continued in his professional life as well, as he worked for 25 years as a Nuclear Medicine Technician in Radiology at Opelousas General Health System.

Tom’s faith was a guiding force in his life. He served for 26 years as a Deacon at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Opelousas, where he gave generously of his time and heart. He was also involved in Marriage Encounter, baptismal and marriage classes for many years through the church, reflecting the importance he placed on faith, family, and strong, loving relationships. He also baptized hundreds of babies.

He was a Fourth Degree in the Knights of Columbus through Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church.

He was a very loving person who treasured those closest to him. He loved his family dearly and missed his wife, Patty, who he adored. Their marriage stood as a beautiful example, one that their children looked up to and admired. The love they shared left a lasting impression on their family and on all who knew them.

Tom also found joy in simple pleasures and time spent outdoors. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and camping.

He is survived by his son, Daniel Lindsey; his daughters, Mary Arledge and Molly Thibodeaux and her husband, Kevin; his brother, Clifford Barrington and his sister, Delaris Noble. He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Juliet Arledge, Lindsey Thibodeaux, Tyler Thibodeaux and Wesley Thibodeaux. He is also survived by one great-grandchild, Ophelia Hernandez. When he married Patty, their families joined into one and they will miss him greatly.

Deacon Tom Lindsey will be remembered for his love, gratitude, and deep respect by all whose lives were touched by his kindness, faithfulness, and example.

The family would love to thank Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care for the compassion and taking such great care of him.
