Donald Ray Lanclos passed away on Friday, September 11, 2026, at the age of 84. He was born in Opelousas on January 12, 1942.

Funeral services for Donald Ray Lanclos will be held on Monday, September 14, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas. Deacon Dwayne Joubert will officiate the funeral service. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas, La.

Pallbearers will be Chase Fontenot, Nick Fontenot, Cody Fontenot, Chis Davis, Mike Cormier and Keith Cormier.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 14, 2026, in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas from 10:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. A Rosary will be recited at 1:30 p.m. by Deacon Dwayne Joubert.

Donald lived a life marked by faith, steady work, and simple daily joys. He retired after 30 years with Daigle Welding, where he worked as a delivery driver. His long career reflected commitment and dependability, and he will be remembered as a man who valued honest work and dedication.

Donald was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Landry Catholic Church, a faith that was an important part of his life. He also found happiness in the quiet pleasures of everyday living. He loved sitting on his patio in the afternoons enjoying his beverages, and he enjoyed cutting grass for his sister, small acts that spoke to his routine, care, and connection to those around him.

He is survived by his sisters, Isabelle “Tut” Marks of Port Barre, La., Anna Lee Stelly of Opelousas, La.; and Nethal Cormier and husband, Davis, of Bridge City, TX; eight nieces and nephews, Belinda Boone and husband, Joe, Karen Briley, Stacey Fontenot and husband, Chris, Cathy Courville, Annette Courville, Cheryl Thibodeaux and husband, DJ, Keith Cormier and wife, Sharla and Mike Cormier and wife, Vicki; and a host of great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Donald is preceded in death by his parents, Lilly Gauthreaux Lanclos and Lucien Lanlcos; his brothers, Nelson Lanclos and Johnny Lanclos; and his brothers-in-law, Ryan Marks and Paul Stelly.

He will be remembered with affection by all who knew him and by those whose lives were touched by his presence, his faith, and his steadfast nature. May his memory bring comfort and peace to all who mourn his passing.
