Dorothy Leger

Opelousas - Visitation for Dorothy Leger, age 69, will be held at the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. A rosary will be prayed at 1:30 p.m. followed by the service at 2:00 p.m. Deacon Sammy Diesi will conduct the service. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Leger, a resident of Opelousas, LA, died on Monday, October 3, 2016 at her residence.

Dorothy enjoyed fishing and hunting. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be remembered as one who was always smiling and never met a stranger. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband, 49 years, Joseph W. Leger; her sons, Ronnie Leger and wife, Jessica, Jody Leger and wife, Dana; her daughters, Vickie Collins and husband, Mike, Michelle Head and husband, Corey and her brother, John Gilbert Babin. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Eric, Derek, Aaron, Alec, Alaina, Ashlyn, Jacob, Hunter and Emily; and her great-grandchildren, Haiden, Addison, Ava, Sophia and Jaide.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert Babin, Sr. and Blanche G. Babin; her brothers, Charles Babin, Gervis Babin and her sisters, Betty Maglione and Margaret Ortego.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Leger, Jody Leger, Eric Leger, Derek Leger, Aaron Hebert and Alec Collins. Honorary pallbearers will be Jacob Collins, Hunter Leger and Haiden Leger.
