Eli Thanh Huynh

Opelousas – Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2019 for Eli Thanh Huynh at St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas. The Reverend Monsignor Russell Harrington will officiate the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery in Grand Prairie.

Eli Thanh Huynh, 2 weeks and 6 days old, passed away on June 17, 2019 at Children’s Hospital in New Orleans.

He is survived by his beloved parents, Dung and Sharee Huynh; maternal grandparents, Sandra Darbonne and Larry Darbonne; paternal grandmother, Oanh Tran; brothers, Dylan Reed and Bryce Huynh; sister, Rees Huynh; aunts, Valerie Middleton (Jay) and Thuy Huynh; uncles, Quan Tran (Shanna), Troy Huynh, Long Huynh (Tham), Shawn Darbonne (Paula) and Shane Darbonne (Maria).

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Doi Van Huynh; and maternal great-grandmother, Priscilla Doucet.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. in the Skip Montet Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday evening. Visitation will continue on Thursday, June 20, 2019 from 8:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.

Pallbearers will be Dylan Reed and Bryce Huynh.
