Emily will be remembered as a devoted family woman whose greatest joy was the people she loved, especially her grandchildren. Her love for her family was a defining part of her life and a lasting gift to those who knew her. She found pleasure in the simple and beautiful things of life. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens, spending time doing crossword puzzles, and drawing. She was very artistic, and that creativity showed in the ways she expressed herself and in the pursuits.
She is survived by her daughter, Jeannie Parson (Ernest); her brother, Walton “Wade” Gautreaux; two grandchildren, Steven Dowdell (Heather) and Kelly Conner (Cecilia) and two great-grandchildren, Evelyn Dowdell and Elijah Conner.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Otis Taylor; her son, Sammy Taylor; her stepson, Carl Taylor; her stepdaughter, Virginia Bright; her brothers, Samuel Gautreux, Clement Gautreaux, Jr., Ewell “Fats” Gautreaux and Donald “Sunny” Gautreaux and her sister, Bonnie Juneau.
As family and friends remember Emily, they will hold close the warmth of her love, the care she gave so freely, and the special place she held in the lives of those around her. Her memory will be cherished with affection and gratitude.
