Eydie Allene Moles Rymer, a resident of Opelousas, LA, died at home on the afternoon of Sunday, May 9, 2021. Eydie was 62 years old.
Eydie was born on October 3, 1958, and grew up in Lexington, KY. She graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History in 1980 and from the University of New Orleans with a Master of Arts degree in History in 1987. In 1981, she and her husband, Rodney, moved to New Orleans, LA, before moving to Slidell, LA, in 1987 and then to Opelousas in 2007, where she lived until the time of her death. Throughout the years, she had been involved with her community, such as the Girl Scouts and her children’s schools, and had been honored as a Kentucky Colonel in 1987.
She was fond of her dogs, reading, working on her family tree, and watching basketball and football games featuring her beloved Kentucky Wildcats and the New Orleans Saints.
Eydie is survived by her two children, Arthur Rymer and Tegan Rymer. She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Rodney Rymer, and her parents, Edgar and Hazel Moles.
She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
