Geraldine “Gerry” Richard

Geraldine "Gerry" Stelly Richard, 79, a resident of Arnaudville, Louisiana, left this earth to be with her daughter, parents, sisters and brother on Friday, December 4, 2020.

Gerry had a strong belief in her Catholic faith.  She loved her family more than anything and always put them before herself.  She would always attend her children's sporting and school events to cheer them on.  Her eyes would light up when her grandchildren and great-grandchildren would visit.  Gerry also looked forward to her weekly bourre' game with friends.  She and her husband loved traveling, especially their yearly visit to the Astrodome to watch the Astros.  She so enjoyed going to Minute Maid Park one last time in 2019.  She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Gerry is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Leroy Richard, daughters, Lynda Dupre and husband, Gene, of Lafayette, Cheryl Richard of Arnaudville; sons, Kevin Richard and wife, Jo Ann, and Gordon Richard of Arnaudville.  She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, Jenee Doucet, Andrea Doucet (Crystal), Samantha Doucet,  Ray Dupre (Nichole),  Ross Dupre (Amanda), Dexter Stelly, Kimberly Richard, Heidi Quebedeaux, Jarrod Kennison, Blake Kennison (Emily), Taryn Jaide Perez, Naomi Richard, Rusty (Heidi) Richard and Lane Richard; 9 great-grandchildren, Hayden, Luke, Aubree,  Alicia, Charlise, Tre, Cameron, Amelia and Abelie; and one brother, Glynn Stelly and wife, Thelma.

Gerry was preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra "Sandy" Richard, parents, Edward Otto and Anna Celanise Stelly, sisters, Anna Lou Thibodeaux (Charles Ray), Georgia Stelly, Thelma Brasseaux (Hayward), Florence "Cora" Nezat (Gene), and brother, Edward Stelly.
