Ginger Johnson

Krotz Springs - Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2019 for Ginger Gail Mires Johnson at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Krotz Springs. The Reverend Father Michael DeBlanc will officiate the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery.

Ginger Gail Mires Johnson, age 72 and a resident of Krotz Springs, passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at her residence.

Ginger enjoyed making candy in her spare time. She loved caring for her family and spoiling her grandchildren. Ginger will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Riley Johnson; sons, Terry Johnson (Tessie), John "Joey" Johnson (Wendy) and Jeremy Johnson; brothers, Larry Don Mires, Roy Lee "Bubba" Mires and Richard Mires; sisters, Bootsie Pullen, Yvonne Mires Luty, Bonnie Lynn Ford and Betty Sue Mires; grandchildren, Amber, Kristen, Betsy, Shelby, Kayla, Halie, Kolby, Kira, Tristan, Gabbie and Morgan; great-grandchildren, Reagan, Josi, Ava, Alyssa, Jaci, Lyric, Hayes, Owen, Tinsley, Hadley, Isaac, Deven and Crislyn; honorary grandchildren, Abby and Carson; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Herbert John "Skipper" Mires; mother, Gladys Marie Mires; brothers, Clyde Mires, Carl Wayne Mires and Charles Mires; sisters, Joyce Faye "Tee" Mires and Jeannette Mires; and daughter, Ronda Gayle Johnson Kaiser.

Visitation will be held at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Krotz Springs on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening by Father Michael DeBlanc. Visitation will continue on Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 8:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m.

Pallbearers will be Terry Johnson, John "Joey" Johnson, Jeremy Johnson, Kolby Johnson, Tristan Johnson and Chris Kaiser.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Ginger Kartchner for the generosity and compassion she showed the Johnson family for the past two years.
