Glenn “Doc” Dale Ellis, born on June 24, 1959, in Lafayette, Louisiana, passed away on May 20, 2026, in Port Barre, Louisiana. Throughout his life, Doc was a devoted father and friend, whose presence touched many with his warmth and generosity.
Doc is survived by his children, Dustin Ellis and Dylan Ellis; his step-mother, Delores Ellis; his siblings, James Ellis and his wife, Julia, Billy Ellis and his wife, Debbie, Nolan Ellis and his wife, Teri, Brenda Ellis Johnson, Wanda Lanclos and her husband, Randy, Leroy Ellis and his wife, Tami, Norma Jean Broussard and her husband Jeff, John Ellis and his wife, Jodi, Paul Woodard and his wife, Carol Ann, Jenette Dupre and her husband, Craig, Charles Woodard and John Woodard and his wife, Stephanie; his lifelong friend, Beryl; and a host of other beloved family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry Lee Ellis, Jr. and Bennie Ruby Adair Ellis; brothers, Edward Paul Ellis and Charles Wayne Ellis; and his sister, Glenda Ann Downs and her husband, Barry.
Doc had a deep love for the outdoors, often finding solace and joy in fishing and camping excursions. These moments spent in nature were not only a source of relaxation for him but also a way to create lasting memories with those he cared about. His hands were never idle; Doc took great pride in working on lawnmowers and fixing various things around his home, always eager to lend a helping hand to those in need of repair or care.
At the heart of Doc's world were his beloved sons, Dustin and Dylan. He loved them with all his heart, cherishing every moment with them and nurturing their growth with unwavering dedication. He leaves behind this precious legacy of love and family.
