Hazel Brasseaux

Opelousas - A funeral service will be held for Hazel S. Brasseaux, age 88, at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 25, 2016, in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas, LA. Deacon Sammy Diesi will conduct the service. Burial will be held at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Brasseaux, a resident of Opelousas, LA, died on Thursday, October 20, 2016, at St. Landry Extended of Care.

Hazel loved to fish, play bingo and watch movies. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her children and by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son, Charles Ray Brasseaux and wife, Melissa; her daughter, Mary Lalonde Fontenot, six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Brasseaux, Sr.; her parents, Antoine and Bernedete Stelly Savoie; her son, Paul Brasseaux, Jr. and her daughter, Lydia Rose Stitt.

Visitation will be held at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Monday, October 24, 2016, from 3:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. The funeral home will reopen on Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
