Henry Higdon

Leonville - Graveside services for Henry Higdon will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 2, 2020, at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church Cemetery in Leonville, LA.  Pastor Richard "Ricky" Meche will officiate the services.

Mr. Higdon, age 87, was a native of Krotz Springs and a resident of Leonville.  He passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at Opelousas General Health System.  He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict.  He was a salesman for a heavy equipment company for many years.  He enjoyed being outdoors, camping and fishing which was his favorite pastime.  Henry will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Dolores Melancon Comeaux of Leonville; stepson, Ferrell Joseph Comeaux of Port Barre; Stepdaughter, Melissa Guilbeau of Arnaudville; two sisters, Virginia Hidgon of Denham Springs; and Florence Moreau of Opelousas; and numerous step grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mattie Luraine Stermer Higdon; father, George Jr. Higdon; his brothers, Joseph George "J.G." Higdon, Lawrence Higdon, and Leon Hidgon; his sister, Mary Luraine Higdon Zieto; and stepson, Glenn Jude Comeaux.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 2, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. in the St. Leo the Great Catholic Church Cemetery in Leonville.
