Iris was cherished for her exceptional pecan pralines, which many considered the very best. Her passion for nurturing extended beyond her kitchen to her yard, where she loved spending time in her yard. She loved working alongside her son, Mike in the garden, picking ripe tomatoes with care. Her love for gardening was matched by her fondness for canning various preserves, a testament to her dedication to preserving the fruits of her labor.

Beyond her home and garden, Iris found enjoyment in the local casinos. She also enjoyed playing pokeno. Her zest for life was further evident in her travels with family, embracing new experiences and cherishing the bonds they shared.

Family was at the heart of Iris’s life. She took immense pride in her grandchildren's activities, whether near or out of state, supporting their endeavors with unwavering enthusiasm.

She leaves behind her children, Becky Wilson and Michael Pitre; grandchildren, Tammy Wilson, Paula Deal (Brady), Michaela Pitre, and Matthew Pitre; and great-grandchildren, Kaylee Wilson, Parker Spain, Peyten Spain, Kyler Spain, Leah Spain, and Easton Deal; her sister, Dean Deshotel and her brother-in-law, Linwood Pitre and his wife, Celia.

Iris was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Pitre; her parents Edgar Vidrine and Onezia Manuel Vidrine; her brother, Howard Vidrine; and her sisters, Icy Bordelon and Ida Vidrine.

Her spirit of kindness, her joy in simple pleasures, and her deep love for her family will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. Iris Pitre’s life was a testament to the beauty of nurturing both people and the earth, leaving a lasting impression on her community and loved ones alike.
