Jakob was the happiest baby imaginable—always smiling, a radiant light in the lives of his family. His laughter echoed peace and warmth. He loved listening to music and Mickey Mouse. Bath time was a treasured ritual, a time of fun that added to his joyful spirit.
Jakob is survived by his loving parents, Jacob Zachary Reed and Kaylie Gabrielle LaHaye of Krotz Springs who cherished every moment they shared with their son; his paternal grandfather, Jonathan Reed and wife, Rachel of Port Barre; along with his paternal grandmother, Dawn Miller of Baton Rouge; his paternal great-grandmother, Louella Levier of Port Barre; his maternal grandfather, Damien Scott LaHaye and his companion, Heidi Ackley, of Krotz Springs; maternal grandmother, Jacquelyn O’Brien and her companion, Bryan Evans of Melville and his maternal great-great-grandmother, Hester Potts and husband, John, of Ace, Texas, surrounded Jakob with tenderness and affection.
His aunts and uncles—Jontasia Levier, Koby Levier, Katelyn Levier, J’Lana Reed, Justin Miller, James Miller, Serenity Coulon, Makayla Atkins, Earl Atkins, Kolten O’Brien, Aubree Evans, and Mikah Ackley—shared in his brief but beautiful journey, each holding a special place in their hearts. He is also survived by a host of extended family members – who also carried Jakob in their hearts.
Jakob is preceded in death by his aunts, D’Lana Reed and Chloe O’Brien, as well as his paternal and maternal great-grandparents.
Though Jakob’s time with us was far too short, the happiness and love he radiated will remain eternal. He has left an indelible impression on his family’s hearts—a bright star whose glow will never fade.
