Jamie Dean Savage Watson passed away at 6:00 am on June 15, 2025. She would have celebrated her 89th birthday on July 13, 2025.

A funeral service for Ms. Jamie Watson will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas with burial to follow at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas, La. Father Bill Melancon will conduct the funeral service.

The pallbearers will be Jerrod Messina, Blaise Watson, Logan Dupre, Rodney Messina, Jack Kiefer and Blake Leleux.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral home will reopen for visitation on Thursday, July 3, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. by Joanne Cortez.

Jamie Dean was born July 13,1936 in Lottie, La and moved to Opelousas when she was 10 years old where she remained until her marriage. She graduated from OHS in 1953 where she was a majorette. She married George Watson, and they were married for 60 years until his death in 2016. After marriage she and George moved to Monroe, Louisiana where she lived for 40 years. Jamie had an exuberant spirit and had a great sense of humor. Her life was filled with many friends and lots of laughter. She was friendly to everyone and never knew a stranger. Jamie was truly one of a kind. She loved dancing, going to parties and entertaining. She also loved being a real estate agent for over 40 years and while working at Van Eaton and Romero she was chosen as best realtor in St. Landry Parish multiple times. Jamie Dean returned to Opelousas where she lived until she became a resident of Camelot of Broussard Assisted Living.

Jamie is survived by her four children, Jamie Sue Watson Messina, Anne Elizabeth Watson, David Watson and Richard Watson. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren: her sister, Gail Anderson and her brother, Harris Ledoux, Jr.

Jamie Dean is preceded in death by her husband, George Watson; her parents, Florence Harvey Ledoux and Harris Ledoux; her biological father, Pat Savage and her brother, Harvey Ledoux.

We will remember Jamie as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was very proud of her children and loved talking about them. Her vivacious spirit will be remembered, and she will be greatly missed.
