A faithful friend is a sturdy shelter; he who finds one finds a treasure. Sirach 6:14-16
Our faithful, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, cousin and friend, our treasure, Jane Robin Solar, made her way to God’s presence peacefully on March 18, 2022, after a lengthy illness.
Jane was born, along with her twin brother Buddy, on August 9, 1948. From that day forward she proved to be a person who spoke the truth and expected the same from anyone she came to befriend. She worked as a bookkeeper over the years in several different businesses, most recently with the accounting department of the Louisiana State Department of Education. After retiring, she helped to provide end of life care to many family members and loved every minute of taking care of as she called them, Granny’s little girl and boys, her great-grandchildren. Though she was busy, she always found time to enjoy all life had to offer. She loved to dance, shop, play the one-armed bandits, do Mardi Gras and have a great time with friends and family. She was the life of any party or get together! She imparted her infinite wisdom and shared her wonderful sense of humor with everyone she encountered.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Jane Robin Solar on Monday, March 21, 2022, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, at 1:00 PM in Krotz Springs with Reverent Father Michael DeBlanc as officiate. Pallbearers will be Marc Solar, Mark Hollier, Braeden Hollier, James Solar, Kaleb Robin, and Alex Lanclos. Honorary Pallbearers are Hunter Trahan and Beckham, Bosten and Brooks Hollier.
