Joseph Credeur

Port Barre - Funeral services for Joseph Letell Credeur will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, December 17, 2017, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre, LA. Reverend Daniel Picard will officiate the services. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Church Cemetery.

Mr. Credeur, age 86, a resident of Opelousas, LA, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2017, at the J. Michael Morrow Nursing Home in Arnaudville, LA.

Joseph was a dozer operator in the oilfield industry for over 38 years. He loved to sing country music and listen to his favorite singer, Hank Williams, Sr. He enjoyed being outdoors and working in his garden. Joseph loved the Christmas season and enjoyed dressing up as Santa for all the neighborhood children. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.

Joseph is survived by his son, Ronald "Slick" Credeur and wife, Brenda; his brothers, Ballard Credeur and wife, Tutsy; Clifford Credeur; his sister, Vita Mae Canzaro and four grandchildren, Matthew Credeur, Michael Credeur, Hallie Oncale-Benoit and Kaitlyn Oncale-Bertrand.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eula Mae Vidrine Credeur; his parents, Clairval Credeur and Nedia Bordes Credeur; his sisters, Dorothy Credeur Hargroder, Adley Credeur Guillory and his, daughter, Debra Lynn Credeur.

Visitation will be held at on Saturday, December 16, 2017 from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM and will reopen on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at 8:00 AM until time of service. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM on Saturday by Father Kenneth Domingue.

The family would like to a send a special thanks to the whole staff at J. Michael Morrow Nursing Home for their compassionate care during Joseph's stay, especially, Shae and Bre'.
