Joseph Curtis Guillory passed away on September 22, 2026, at his residence. He was born on July 13, 1946, in Opelousas, Louisiana.

Funeral services for Joseph Curtis Guillory, age 80, will be held on Monday, September 28, 2026 at the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Krotz Springs, LA at 3:00pm. Pastor Rick Langford will conduct the service. Burial will follow in the St. Anthony Catholic Church Cemetery in Krotz Springs, LA.

Pallbearers will be Robby Taylor, Freddie Calverette, Jason Guillory, Mac Mistric, Lynn Martin and Andy Rousse.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28, 2026, at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Krotz Springs from 11:00am until 3:00pm.

Joseph lived a life marked by hard work, service, and a deep appreciation for the outdoors. He worked as a tugboat captain for 63 years, a career that reflected his dedication, strength, and steady character. He was also a proud veteran of the National Guard, and he carried that pride throughout his life.

Outside of his work, Joseph found great joy in the simple and lasting pleasures that meant the most to him. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a very active person who was always on the go. He loved feeding the squirrels and birds, and he also enjoyed going to his camp. He belonged to the Brushy Bayou Hunting Club, a connection that reflected his love of the outdoors and the fellowship that came with it.

Joseph treasured time with his family, especially the moments he spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Most of all, he loved the time he shared with his wife and boys. He will also be remembered for enjoying a cold Dos Equis and Fireball shots.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara Daire Guillory; his sons, Craig Guillory (companion, Celeste) and Jason Guillory and his sisters, Marie Guillory and Dora Mae Fisette; and his brother, Lynn Martin. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Jaron Guillory (Desiree), Brailan Guillory (companion Z), Jalyn Guillory, Julia Richardson and Lylah Brown and seven great-grandchildren, Noah Guillory, Abel Guillory, Jaxon Guillory, Elijah Guillory, Isaiah Guillory, Olivia Guillory and Aspen Guillory.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Curley Guillory and Emily Johnson Guillory; his brothers, Jimmy Guillory and Glen Martin and his sister, Cynthia Ann Quibodeaux.

Joseph Curtis Guillory will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, active nature, and love for family.
