Kenneth "Kenny" Michael
Amy
October 25, 1972 – June 1, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kenneth "Kenny" Michael Amy, age 53, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend. Born on October 25, 1972, Kenny was raised in Opelousas Louisiana and spent his life enjoying the people, places, and simple pleasures that meant so much to him.
Kenny was the cherished son of Herbert Amy and Janet Amy. He was the beloved brother of Michelle Guillory (Patrick) and Dr. Eric Amy (Amber). He was also a proud uncle to Christopher Guillory, Kalyn Fontenot, Ella Amy, and Betchina Amy, all of whom held a special place in his heart.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, August Herbert Amy, Sr. and Bonnie Prudhomme Amy and his maternal grandparents, Lewis Fredrick Mater and Zelma Kirkbride Mater.
Kenny had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed spending time on the farm, hunting, and simply being outside. He appreciated the beauty found in everyday moments and could often be found enjoying nature, working on a project, or visiting with friends.
Known for his quick wit and sense of humor, Kenny never missed an opportunity to tell a good story or share a joke. Those who knew him will remember the laughter he brought, his colorful stories, and the unique perspective he had on life. Beneath his humor was a generous heart. Kenny was the kind of person who would help someone in need without hesitation and would gladly give the shirt off his back to help a friend. His kindness and willingness to lend a hand will be remembered by many.
Kenny's life reflected a love for the outdoors, a generous spirit, and an appreciation for the simple things that brought him joy. Though he will be deeply missed, the memories, laughter, and stories he leaves behind will continue to be treasured by those who knew and loved him.
