Lannie Bergeron

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Lannie Errol Bergeron at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 26, 2019, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. Reverend Austin Leger will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will be held at Bellevue Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 26, 2019, from 10:00 AM until 1:30 PM in the Skip Montet Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas.

Mr. Bergeron, age 82, a resident of Opelousas, LA, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at Opelousas General Health System.

Lannie had over 40 years of dedicated service to the students of St. Landry Parish. He coached little league baseball and helped with the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church Sunrisers. He enjoyed being outdoors hunting and fishing and loved woodworking, knife making, gardening and cooking. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Helen Jane Bergeron; his son, Barry Anthony Bergeron; his daughter, Desiree' Lynn Bergeron Kennison and husband, Kearns Kennison; his brother, Lyle Bergeron and wife, Jeanne Carry Bergeron; his sisters, Elise Olsen and Deretta Manuel and husband, Ray Manuel. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Miranda Nicole Vega; Sharee Nicole McPherson and husband, Robert McPherson; Amber Fisher and husband, Shea Fisher and three great-grandchildren, Renee' Anna Bella Vega, Owen Fisher and Pierce Fisher.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hervin Joseph Bergeron, Sr. and Elise Marie Bienvenu Bergeron and his brothers, Hervin Joseph Bergeron, Jr., Charles Ray Bergeron and Hugh Bergeron.

Pallbearers will be Barry Bergeron, Lyle Bergeron, Kearns Kennison, Robert McPherson, Shea Fisher and Sammy Coon.
