Leanna Medlin

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Leanna Marie Daigle Medlin at 10:30 AM on Thursday, August 16, 2018, in the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Opelousas, LA. Reverend Gregory Simien will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will take place at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Medlin, a resident of Opelousas, LA, passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2018 at her residence.

Leanna worked as a cosmetologist for several years until she went back to school and received her Bachelor's Degree in General Studies from USL. Leanna then went to work for the State of Louisiana's Department of Labor. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking. Leanna will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughters, Cristina Medlin Doiron and husband, Troy, of Duson, LA; Dana Medlin Dupre and husband, Lou, of Carencro, LA; her son, John Medlin, Jr. of Opelousas, LA; her brothers, Gerald Daigle and wife, Gayle, of Baton Rouge, LA; Kermit Daigle and wife,
Shelly, of Gonzales; her sisters, Linda Daigle of Baton Rouge, LA and Regina Daigle Reviere and husband, Kenneth, of Carencro, LA. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Gabriel Singleton, Nick Schneider, Timothy Dupre, Trevor Dupre, Cori Lynn Medlin and Tyler Joseph Medlin.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, John Medlin, Sr.; her parents, Ignace and Regina Faul Daigle; her brother, Shelton Daigle and her sister, Eve Daigle Rozas.

Pallbearers will be Chad Theriot, John Medlin, Jr., Trevor Dupre, Timothy Dupre, Lou Dupre and Troy Doiron. Honorary pallbearers will be Tyler Medlin and Bryant Theriot.

Visitation will be held at the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Wednesday, August 15, 2018, from 4:30 PM until 9:00 PM. A rosary will be prayed on Wednesday at 6:30 PM by Deacon Ulysse Joubert. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 AM on Thursday until time of services.
